Do you have minimum order quantities?
Yes, for retailers with a valid ABN there is a minimum wholesale ordering quantity of $50 on the first order. After the first order, there are no minimum ordering quantities.
If you are making a retail purchase direct from Scrub Australia there are no minimum ordering quantities, however retail prices apply.
How long will it take to make my order?
At Scrub Australia we do not keep large stocks of seed paper on hand but make it as we go. This ensures we supply you with the freshest and highest quality seed paper possible. After an order is placed, please allow up to 10-14 days.
What are your delivery fees?
Delivery fees are determined per order. We use Australia Post for our deliveries. If you have any special requests or would prefer registered post, please inform us when placing your order.
Do you provide any merchandising solutions – like stands etc?
At this stage we are limited in what we can provide in terms of merchandising solutions.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept cheque, direct deposit, money order or paypal via request.
How do we order your products?
Retailers: The best way to order Scrub Australia products is via email (sales@scrubaustralia.com.au). Alternatively, you can place your order via mail (Scrub Australia, Buxton, Victoria 3711).
To place an order, simply provide us with the code of the product(s) you are after, the quantity and preferred seed type. Product codes can be found on the Scrub Product Catalogue and on the Scrub Price Lists. After we receive your order, we will send you an invoice that includes delivery costs. Delivery will occur after payment is received.
Do the seeds have a shelf life?
The shelf life of Scrub Australia seeded products depends how the product is stored. Similar to live seeds, the seed paper should be stored in a cool, dry and dark place to maximise its longevity. If the seeded product is cared for in an appropriate way, the shelf life can be approximately 9-18 months. However, for retailers where the product is on display and subject to ambient shop conditions we recommend purchasing quantities that permit turnover every 3-6 months.
Are you able to send samples?
Yes, we can provide samples of seeded paper. However, if you require samples of our products a small fee may apply which will be redeemable when you place your order.
What seeds are available?
Alyssum, Swan River Daisy, Oregano, Thyme and Chamomile. More seeds will be added as we conduct further research.
Directions for planting?
Many Scrub products come with directions for how to plant the paper. Information on planting requirements is available from our Plant the Paper! page.
Can the seed paper be printed on?
Yes, the seed paper can be printed on, however as this is a handmade product that contains live seeds, a few factors need to be taken into account.
- Firstly, please be aware that there is variation in the thickness of the paper, which is typical of a handmade paper product. This variation may impact on printing quality. On average, the gsm of the Scrub paper products is approximately 200gsm.
- Secondly, at Scrub we have successfully printed onto seed paper using inkjet printers. The tests we have conducted using our own printers suggest that there is no discernible reduction in germination/viability of the seeds after printing. However, we recommend you conduct your own testing, using your printer (as all printer do operate differently), to determine printing success and quality as well as any potential impact on germination/viability of the seeds.
- Thirdly, Scrub seed paper, of course, contains seeds! Some seeds are larger than others leading to a bumpy texture on the paper. This can affect printing quality so please keep this in mind.
- Lastly, Scrub seed paper is manufactured such that one side of the paper is ‘smoother’ than the other. Printing quality is highest when printing on the ‘smooth’ side, but printing on the “bumpy” side also gives great results.
What is the thickness of your paper?
Scrub Australia seed paper is handmade and therefore subject to variation in its thickness. On average the seed paper is approximately 200gsm.
I can’t find a retailer who stocks the products I want. Can I buy them directly from Scrub Australia?
Yes, you can buy products directly from Scrub Australia but please do check our website for current stockists as this is constantly being updated.
Can I send seeded cards to international destinations?
At Scrub Australia we highly recommend that you do not send any seed products internationally as, being a seed product, they will likely be held by customs and quarantine in the importing country. This is important as many countries restrict the importation of live seeds, even when in seed paper, to prevent any potential ecological problems that the seeds may cause.
Is it ok to send seeded cards to Western Australia?
Western Australia has some rather strict quarantine laws with respect to live seed products and while the seeds used in Scrub Australia products are all permitted to enter the state, the suggested process differs depending on whether the products are for commercial or domestic use.
- Domestics Use: It is advisable to write on the package/envelope the following information to assist with quarantine:
Attention Quarantine
This envelope contains plantable
handmade paper with pure seeds of:
Scientific name
- Commercial Use: Consignments may be subject to a $20 quarantine inspection fee which is payable by the retailer. We advise retailers contact the WA AQIS for further information.
